on “Death” and on “Gita”(Indian media neglecting Orrisa violence and bajrang dal)

September 30, 2008

CAUTION:looking for gyan ? this is not the right place

Death is as sure for that which is born, as birth is for that which is dead. Therefore grieve not for what is inevitable.“-Bhagwad Gita

Gita says say don’t grieve death, its inevitable anyways. Truth , says Gita, is nothing but the concepts of ISHWARA(supreme controller), JEEV(soul),PRAKRITI(matter, nature), KARMA(action), KAALA(time).

We don’t seem to go beyond this, like reading a guide book with shortcuts for your exams.

After all you don’t need to read Mahabharatha, if you have seen it on televison, and seen some lines here and there.(or is it?)

Seemingly some religiously motivate people  , have massacered around fifty people in orrisa and I am sure will justify their actions “WITHOUT GRIEF” .Whats more it was’t allowed extensive media coverage like the serial blasts in New Delhi and managed to feature at the second or third pages of the newspapers and five seconds on TV  .There have long been rumours about the massacre of Christians in Orrisa, but such stories are somehow not  much hyped in the Indian media. The so called “secular India” might be going to dogs and we living in the disgraced country are been dragged too. ALL I CAN DO IS VOTE, BUT IT DOESN”T SEEM TO HELP .

“Whats your contribution to prevent the crisis?” you would ask, well I would say “NONE” and am glad to say so because i atleast havent added to the tension. It seems like raising your voice against any kind of violence is to alienate a community which could evetually burn your home down.

I had seen an article on the internet claiming “Bajrang Dal Makes a Village muslim free{click to read full article)”

Stating”The past 10 days have seen armed Bajrang Dal activists on the rampage, driving out about 25 Muslim families from their homes, ransacking their houses and setting them on fire.”           Most people in India will give a full fleged yawn on such a news, it doesn’t make a difference till you are directly affected, see!

Indian  proud of their heritage , dont grieve the dead, but die in the name of culture , without being heard , without producing a single squeek and other Indians like me squeel in such blogs, shame on me.

On the other hand Indian Media ( aaj tak , India tv and similar so called news channels full of crap)  devote most of their time showing the ressurection of Ravan, astrological predictions, similarity between Sita and Helen of Troy et cetra. Why not ?for TRPs.  Sadly but truly this proves our mentality and makes us a nation who does’t mind death as long as it is “by” or “for” Gita.

No wonder if someone concludes that Gita was set in a Battle Ground to jusify evreything possible in the name of God , whch the world has imbibed very conviniently.

(p.s Bhagwad Gita is being misused in present times, but is a great book to read, i love it and hold an unshakeable respect for its teachings )

Singapore circiut does it for F1

September 28, 2008

Singapore circuit ha proved to be a great F1 circuit .Watching those flames and red metal from the cars was a delight which can only be experienced in a Night race. It gets to be a relief from the boring and dull curcuits some F1 races currently happen at.

Fernando Alonso won the topsy turvy race and who could have ever imagined Ferrari not gaining a single point and giving aone point constructors lead to Mclaren Merc, while hamlinton(84 points) extended his lead by 7 points over Massa(77points).

Earlir though a safety car period caused Alonso to take a lead and Nico Rosberg to get his career best result, while the same period pushed the race leader Massa to the very end of the pack.

here are the final standings of the race

  1. Fernando Alonso
  2. Nico Rosberg
  3. Lewis Hamilton
  4. Timo Glock
  5. Sebastian Vettel
  6. Nick Heidfeld
  7. David Coulthard
  8. Kazuki Nakajima
  9. Jenson Button
  10. Heikki Kovalainen
  11. Robert Kubica
  12. Sebastien Bourdais
  13. Felipe Massa
  14. Giancarlo Fisichella
  15. Kimi Räikkönen
the rest didnt finish the race.

CHINESE RADIO, CHINESE PHONE, CHINESE ZIPS and finally CHINESE MILK

Frankly speaking Chinese products dont have a reputation for being good in the market, It doesnt surprise me if one more product turns out to be bad or full of melamine.

But people we are loosing lives here! Come on chinese guys you are a great nation , then why such sub standard products.

The World Health Organization said the problem has been exacerbated by “a combination of ignorance and deliberate failure to report.”

Chinese health officials have confirmed the deaths of four infants who had kidney stones caused by drinking tainted milk powder. More than 54,000 babies have been sickened, including 12,892 who have been hospitalized, officials said. State media have reported that two other babies with kidney stones died this summer and that their parents said they had used a brand of tainted milk powder. But local officials have not confirmed a link to the scandal.”-washington post

JENNIFER ANISTON WANTS TO START DATING

I mean dude whats wrong with you mam. this is hilariously yawnfull, this way of staying in news, i like it Jenni, keep it up. but try to change some details sometimes or it gets boring.

Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston is desperate to rekindle her romance with ex-beau John Mayer.ennifer reached out to John first. She had a few glasses of wine – then decided to throw caution to the wind and make the first move. John was pleasantly surprised to hear from her,” a source said.

However, Mayer seems to be more concerned about changing her lifestyle rather than getting back with her, as Jennifer has been photographed on several boozy nights with pals.

Jennifer’s pals are worried, as the Hollywood actress is having a tough time dealing with her split from Mayer.“-yahoo news

Another BOMB blast in DELHI

September 27, 2008

We Indians have got used to this kind of news. Tommorow it will be in the newspapers how people braved the odds and went on to live their normal lives just the next day. I feel sometimes handicapped , When i go out of my house I might not even return home.

Believe me or not we are more than one billion and murders of a couple of people wont change the scene of indian politics, human life has last value in India, i feel like i am a vegetable.

India is a Democracy you would say, then why does Raj Thakrey with only seven seats in the state assembly  allowed to speak on the behalf of entire state. India is going to dogs and common vegetables like me cant do any thing but watch it happen, and write frustated articles.

Here are last 10 major attacks on INDIA

  • August 252007 – Two blasts in Hyderabad’s Lumbini park and a restaurant. The police reportedly managed to find and defuse another bomb in the same area……………….42-KILLED

This makes 10 major attacks in 2 years! THis makes a total of 429 victims of terrorism in last two years.
And seems very easy to write it on internet, indeed it is, no matter whom you vote for, whom you support, whomever you believe in, whatever religion you follow in India, one thing is for sure, your life does not make any difference, you dont have any value.
Atleast thats the picture I get. Hope for a better future, pray for the dead.
source
2,765 people died in terrorism-related violence in India during year 2006. A review of the data indicates that nearly 41 per cent of all such fatalities occurred in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) alone as a result of the Pakistan-backed separatist proxy war in that State. 27 per cent resulted from Left Wing Extremism (Maoism/Naxalism) across parts of 14 States, prominently including Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Karnataka. 23 per cent of the total fatalities in 2006 occurred in the multiple insurgencies of India’s Northeast.”-www.sapt.org

FORCED Respect

September 26, 2008

You would never forget his name“, my friend said, its so easy to remember it rhymes with “maaya”.This was about the teacher I had in my college. A small petite man who would not appear to be a man of any importance unless for his long almost “sage-like”  beard. Somehow Kaaya had risen the ranks in all these years to become the head of the department. “BULLSHIT” he would say to innocent students expected to know as much as Marco polo did after all his travels.

Saaya was that typical kind of ageing indian guy you will find everywhere in india, who forces you to respect him because he has a long beard and is old or is clinging on to a “prestigious” seat in the society. “How dare you say that in front of me, i can throw you out in seconds” he would say with blowing the air completely out of his lungs for added effects  which made Dooya sir appear like buddha would with his rib bones after years of meditation.

Students who sere crazy about Haaya sir would obvioulsy get the perks , win competetions judged by him, appear more pumped up than the students who would be on the recieving end of his taunts ranging from insulting family to hairstyle to skin color that too during vivas.

While I tried to atleast remember his name, Looya sir grew in his power, somewhat reminding me of Qutubuddin Aibaq of Slave dynasty who was left by Mhd.Gazni to rule and plunder India. He was surrounded by men like himself, and all of them would make each other appear more pathetic if they were less, alone. He and his sharp sounding comments would make me defocus for days together, almost throw me into a depression , make me feel like shit , he made me believe in himself and expect kind words out of him only to be taken back into reality next time. I learnt later that its all fake.

Fooya sir and characters like him flood normal life of India demanding and craving respect. These men make it apparent that its their birth right to command awe and fear. No you should not ask “why” to these men like Gooya sir , its their grey beards which answer the question

Urban Assault

September 22, 2008

I was watching T.V with my mum one day, and i noticed that for about some minutes now she hadn’t spoken. I had ignored some really irritating noise(of “hussssh”) and turned my head to the direction of the source to investigate and stop the irritation. I saw mum behind the wall with a roll of newspaper (intended for violent use) in her hand and her little head popping out and her face turned aggressive. I looked where the trembling newspaper roll was pointing. I wasn’t surprised at finding what was being pointed and shooed away but was surprised at the mere act which seemed to me like the reaction of two dogs in a territorial conflict.
Well it was a medium sized langur(monkey) who was not that interested in TV but was looking quite baffled with this weird reaction of the human being and was looking forward to accept the offer(of the paper roll), but didn’t quite know if it could eat it. What it did next was quite anticipated if you were in its place, it grabbed the news paper, ran out of the door , tried to chew it and realized it somehow didn’t have the taste for it. The scene ended up with shreds of paper, screams and paw prints.

My mum who was quick to close the window said पता नही कौन गला शिकार होगा, जय हनुमान.”(i.e.”god knows who will be the next victim, jai hamuman”). the first part of the sentence(about the victim) was devoted to the popular detective show on a third grade hindi news channel , where as the later part was to worship the monkey(or the monkey god) who was being shooed away a while ago.
This was the biggest reverse culture shock I had received after coming back from europe.I was in India and a monkey could just enter and leave my house at its own will, it was treated with disgust first and was praised(ironically) when it wasn’t there to listen and was busy attacking other households. It was and still is some amusement to see day today things and wonder if the thought of amusement really deserves a thought? or is it worse than before? or is it better than before? or is the great Indian tolerance superficial? or is the opposite where the disgust is superficial and tolerance deep?

There was recently a story in The Times of India about Drunk Monkeys attacking Humans in Orissa. (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1080182.cms).

Why?
Because the Hindus believe that Pawan Dev (God of Air, wind ) incarnated in the form of a monkey and helped the human race and Ram(Vishnu’s incarnation) to fight evil and played a major role . This means that all monkeys must be divine and thus treated with tolerance, if not equal they have a greater right to live.
Yeah right! Such belief in a society which takes over the natural habitat of monkeys and kills many of them out of fear, anger or contempt seems quite hypocritical. Where is the logic?

By this logic if monkeys were to rule the world and take our homes one day, they should rightfully worship the entire human race because Jesus Christ was born to humans.
